Sophia Bernard Wins Wahu U/15's

SHE started the year just wanting to improve her results in competition heats, hoping to pick up an event win here or there.

And North Steyne grommet Sophia Bernard has done just that, ending the year in perfect fashion at the Wahu Surfer Groms event on the weekend.

Sophia mastered the tricky, 1 metre swell at Curl Curl Beach to take out the competitive girls under-15 division.

A WELCOME RETURN HOME FOR DAYYAN NEVE

North Steyne monthly contest provided plenty of exciting moments and it must be said the total lack of quality waves didn’t stop any of the fun on what was another brilliant day out.

Beau Mitchell took on the contest directors roll for the first time and what a great job he did with everyone raving his ability to handle the pressure of having a thousand questions thrown at u for 6 hours straight, bet u Beau sleep well that night.

The day also saw the return to the club ranks of WCT surfer Dayyan Neve and I don’t know what it is but he presence seems to get the competitive juices flowing within the open ranks.

2010 NSB season kicks off with epic day of surfing

It might have been unseasonably chilly for October but the cold weather didn’t stop the masses from enjoying what was a fantastic start to the new season at North Steyne Boardriders .

A host of new faces , joined seasoned campaigners in taking on the great waves that rolled into the Carlton street line-up and it must be said it had that new season vibe to it as everyone searched for that good result to kick start the year.

After a frantic start to the day in which the rego’s were sorted and everyone purchased their new NSB Jumper, which I might add came in handy with the weather, it was game on as all divisions went for broke.
